IFRS 17 in practice – cases

Overview

This e-learning module covers practice cases and builds on the foundational level of knowledge established in the other IFRS 17 e-learnings in the series. A participant can complete this course without having completed the other IFRS 17 e-learnings in the series, but is advisable to complete the others first.

The different modules in the IFRS for insurance curriculum cover the different subtopics of IFRS 17. In this case study e-learning, you will learn how to apply what is covered in the other modules on the different subtopics on IFRS 17.
As such a high level of understanding of IFRS 17 is expected for this module.

This course will enable you to:

• determine which financial statement line items are in scope of IFRS 17

• for group of insurance contracts measured under the general measurement model determine the insurance contract liability and the CSM

• for group of insurance contracts measured under the premium allocation approach determine the insurance contract liability

• for group of insurance contracts measured under variable fee approach determine the insurance contract liability and the CSM
